RAC has been running a car sharing scheme at their Stretford site now for three years, offering their employees reserved parking spaces, a free taxi home in an emergency and even planting trees for new members!
RAC implemented the scheme to help them cope with moving employees from two different offices onto one site with little available car parking.
Pauline Standeven, the Group Facilities Manager says, "When RAC merged two sites and relocated to a residential area, the potential impact of colleagues travelling to and from work on both the local community and environment had to be addressed as a high priority".
"Introducing a successful car share scheme has helped to alleviate that impact."
