About us
CarshareGM has been developed and implemented by the ten local authorities that
make up Greater Manchester. The website is operated by Forecasting and Analytical
Services at Transport for Greater Manchester. This scheme
is intended to facilitate the sharing of journeys between individuals and their
place of employment.
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Website. By accessing any part
of the Website you shall be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.
If you do not accept these terms and conditions you must leave the Website.
If you use the Website your conduct indicates you agree to be bound by the Terms
and
Conditions.
We reserve the right to amend or change any of the Terms and Conditions at any time
and it is your obligation to recheck the Website from time to time to review the
Terms and Conditions, as they are binding on you.
We reserve the right to discontinue the website after providing notice to members.
Accessing the site
Access to the Website is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide without notice. We will not be liable if for any reason the Website is unavailable at any time or for any period.
Membership
Membership of the website requires registration. Membership entitles only the individual
registered to make use of the website. Responsibility for the security of any passwords
issues rests with you.
Membership is open to the employees of those organisations that have been approved
by us.
The website should only be used for the purpose of finding a car sharing match. Members must hold and continue to hold a valid driving licence to participate as
a driver.
The right to accept or refuse membership is at the sole discretion of the Greater
Manchester Smarter Choices Officer.
Termination
You have a right to terminate your membership at anytime.
We also reserve the right to suspend or cancel your membership if, in our opinion,
you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these Terms and Conditions
and/or misused the website in any way. When your account is closed your personal data will be deleted from our systems.
Data Protection
All personal information will be treated in accordance with the Data Protection
Act 1998. The only personal data that will be viewed by other members is your contact
details (Name, email, nominated phone number). The Greater Manchester Transportation
Unit will not pass on the details of any other member to a third party.
The site administrators will have access to the personal details that you enter
but these will only be used for administrative and/or statistical purposes. No personal
data will be passed on to third parties unless required to do so by law.
Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
Safety
We are obliged to point out that the use of the service is at your own risk. You are advised that no checks are made against any of the people registering with the Website. You are responsible for your own safety and should read our safety guidelines, which are by no means an exhaustive list.
